Save CalHOME
The Governor’s May Revise proposes no new funding for CalHome - California’s only state program dedicated to increasing and preserving affordable homeownership for low-income households. This cut comes alongside the elimination of several other vital programs across the housing continuum - the State Low-Income Housing Tax Credit, the Multifamily Housing Program, the Homeless Housing, Assistance and Prevention Program, and the Joe Serna Jr. Farmworker Housing Grant Program - and leaves shovel-ready homeownership projects across the state in jeopardy.
At a time when working families are struggling to afford even modest homes, we must raise our collective voices to ensure CalHome is restored in the final state budget.
CalHome funding has helped thousands of California families achieve strength, stability, and self-reliance through homeownership. Without it, we risk losing ground in our fight for housing equity and economic opportunity.
Habitat for Humanity California is asking your help to mobilize supporters to take part in a grassroots campaign urging the Legislature and the Governor to protect this essential funding.
