Legislative Update
HOME Priority Bills
Made it out of Assembly Housing on June 24, is going to Assembly Local Gov on July 1
Assembly Housing hearing moved to July 1
Headed to Senate Judiciary on June 30
AB 1294 (Haney)
Bill was gutted and amended into a new policy, HOME members are no longer sponsoring the new policy and this is removed as a HOME priority

Debbie Arakel, Habitat for Humanity CA:
AB 939 (Schultz): Passed out of Appropriations and is headed to the floor
AB 1903 (Wicks): Up in Senate Judiciary on June 30
An amendment was made to the affordable housing bond (SB 417) to specifically allocate $600,000 of the bond to CalHOME!
NPHS Inc, Ryan Sears:
SB 1092: Died in Asm Housing, but might be revived
SB 894 (Allen): flying through, consent item in Asm Emergency Management Committee
HOME Advocacy Day Recap
Met with 7 key legislative offices.
Plenty of social time as well, with a catered lunch planning session and a happy hour after meetings wrapped up.

2027 Policy Planning
We’re getting a head start on policy planning for next year, so we have time to do the research, development, and socialization necessary to move forward a couple of HOME bills in the fall, plus figure out a unified budget ask.
